On May 3 we presented A Taste of Italian Art, our first cooking class at the LCBO Rideau! We enjoyed enormously the experience and fortunately everything went smooth! The timing was perfect, the dishes were “au point”, the stove, the oven and the projector worked well and most important, participants were enthusiastic and enjoyed very much our unique recipes inspired in Italian works of art. They learned not only about cooking, but also about art history and Italian culture!
In addition, the accompanying wines were a true perfect match! Our Risotto Luce di Tintoretto was served with a Pinot Grigio (Albino Armani 2009), our Agnello alla Lega with an Alsatian Riesling (Kuhlmann-Platz 2009), and our Panna Cotta alla De Rossi was beautifully paired with a Sauternes (Chateau Fontaine 2008).
We are very thankful to Erin (Special Events Coordinator), Holly (wine consultant) and Phil (our “cool” assistant) for all their help and contribution to create a very agreeable ambiance!
The LCBO found interesting our innovative approach to cooking and invited us to give other classes. Since 1997 we have been offering painting workshops in Tuscany (Studio Italia) and over the years, we have realized that our usual discussions around gastronomic suppers were a crucial element in the quality of our art experiences.
