The arrival of Surrealism in Canada
Edgar Morin once said that ‘ideas are like virus.’ If we equate surrealist art to a virus, then Canada’s immune system was very strong! While the surrealist system was born in1924 in France, Canada was not ready to accept surrealist art until around 1944.
Do not fear!
The lesson we learned allowed me to acknowledge that I had become too attached to my work and that it’s okay to “let go.” Do not get attached!
